NEW MIRACLES

New Miracles

UNDER CONTRUCTION I am currently documenting the pieces from this exhibition for a higher quality experience. Please have patience! I hope these lower quality photos will be an okay substitute for now. Thank you

New Miracles is a body of installation drawings detailing the various anomalies in my day-to-day life over 2023 and ones currently occurring in 2024. These anomalies include strange but significant interactions with strangers, abnormal occurrences, and anything that interrupts the momentum of a normal day, for better or worse. These miracles are told through dynamic and gestural figures/forms in surreal, layered scenes, implementing loose storytelling. Compositionally, each form emulates designs found in nature such as plant patterns, veiny, visceral appearing blobs, and stringy, hairy lines. This expresses the energy of life itself, like a beautiful parasite/creature on the wall, graphed with information.

Through these drawings, viewers are invited to slow down and become more aware of the present moments in their life and the larger picture of their existence. With so much happening in each of our lives, it’s easy to run on autopilot and react negatively to even the slightest, mundane inconvenience. I hope viewers will appreciate the miracles they experience every single day, sense the bigger picture around them outside of themselves, and be open to turning negative experiences into positive ones as we all traverse time together.
